6 tips to protect yourself from door-to-door scams

ADS has received numerous reports regarding security contractor scams in your area. These contractors may be falsely representing themselves as ADS employees and use deceptive tactics to get you to switch your service.

Review the following tips so that if someone knocks on your door you can be sure you are always dealing with a reputable alarm professional:
  • They often say that they work for a security system manufacturer.
  • They may say they are there to “upgrade” your existing system.
  • They may say they are only offering a certain number of “free” systems in your neighborhood.
  • They may misrepresent that ADS Security is “going out of business”.
  • Always ask for an ID badge, business card or literature with their company name.
  • Be to ask for their State Alarm License Number. All ADS Security offices have required state licenses.

Never hesitate to Contact an ADS Security Professional at 1.866.837.8110 before making any decision concerning the security of your home or business.
